FREE online event, Thursday 18 May 2023 12-12.30pm
Safer Farms is hosting a FREE 30 minute online event for the farming community to address the alarming number of farm accidents involving our kids.
The number of harmful incidents involving kids on farms is too high — 1284 claims have been made in the past five years, according to ACC figures. That is almost 5 five accidents involving children on farms every week in New Zealand.
Safer Farms is supporting and enabling farmers to make good calls when it comes to on-farm safety. Children are part of our farming DNA, we want them to play and come home safe. So grab a cuppa or a sandwich and join in the conversation. Hear what farmers are doing to protect their kids from harm.
Hosted by Lindy Nelson, chair Safer Farms with guest speakers:
• Becks Smith, Otago beef & sheep farmer and mum;
• Mark Ogilvie, Pamū Head of Health Safety & Wellbeing;
• Harriet Bremner Pinckney, farmer, health & wellbeing advocate & children’s safety author
When: Thursday 18 May 12-12.30pm
Supported by Federated Farmers.
Together, let’s help our kids play safe.
